Program Info

  • Can accommodate 30 students per 30 minute interval.
  • Tidepools On Tour programs can be scheduled Wednesdays and Saturday* (*weekend dependent).
  • Contact us at education@centralcoastaquarium.com with special program requests.
  • Access to an electrical outlet and shade (if outdoors) are needed to support our mobile aquarium system and animals.

Aquarium on the Move!

Tidepools on Tour brings the rocky intertidal to you! Our educators bring some of California’s most beloved seashore animals to you through our mobile aquarium program. This program introduces students to a selection of our tidepool animals including sea stars, sea urchins, and hermit crabs in our mobile aquarium tank! The Central Coast Aquarium is excited to share this alternative program with you – near and far!

2025-26 Program Pricing

  • 60 minute – $500 (plus mileage)
  • 90 minute – $550 (plus mileage)
  • 120 minute – $600 (plus mileage)

Scholarships

The Central Coast Aquarium strives to offer scholarship assistance for school program fees. Funds are awarded at the discretion of the Aquarium on a first-come, first-served basis until funds are exhausted.

Note: Some funds are reserved for SLO County Title I students. Applicants will be asked to provide information about their school, program of interest, and a statement of need describing how the desired program will enhance student learning.
