The Central Coast Aquarium is excited to announce that summer camp registrations are now open! Each week long camp session will include: interactive lessons and activities, outdoor fireldtrips, animal encounters and more! Join us as we dive into summer full of fun in Avila Beach!

  • *SOLD OUT* Crazy Camouflage (June 17 – 21): How does a flatfish blend in to the sandy sea floor? Or an octopus blend in to its surroundings? Campers uncover the superpower of camouflage as they explore marine life in and outside of the aquarium
  • *SOLD OUT* Tidepool Treasures (July 8 – 12): Did you know that here on the Central Coast, we are surrounded by treasure? It may not come in a wooden box full of gold doubloons but hidden inside colorful shells along the rocky seashore. Come discover these tide pool creatures!
  • Shark Week (July 29 – August 2): Join us for a week full of shark-themed lessons, activities, crafts , and more as we explore these jaw-some creatures and learn about the important role that sharks play in our oceans.
  • Predators vs Prey (June 10 – 14): Predators and prey have important roles to play in the ocean. Explore food webs, ocean apex predators, survival techniques, and more here at the aquarium and in the wild! 
  • Marine Mammals (June 24 – 28): We may not have marine mammals here at the aquarium, but on the rocky shores of Avila Beach, marine mammals abound! Learn how marine mammals keep warm, communicate, and navigate underwater, and observe marine mammals in their natural habitat. You otter be there! 
  • Swashbuckling Scavengers (July 22 – 26):  Ahoy mateys! Join us for a fun filled week of pirate lingo, costumes, scavenger hunts and more. There may even be buried treasure… “X” marks the spot!

  • Session 1 (July 15 – 19)
  • Session 2 (August 5-9)
    • A week full of at sea adventures awaits, as we explore Avila Bay in Kayaks, take a ride upon a 55′ sport fishing vessel, and explore the marine environment through the lens of a marine scientist! Join us for lab experiments, behind the scenes tours, animal feedings, and more – you won’t want to miss it!
